PRIVATE WELL WATER IS NOT REGULATED
With a private well, water quality is up to you.
If the home you’re buying is serviced by a private well, we recommend adding comprehensive water testing to your home inspection. If you are using FHA or VA financing, your lender will require testing. Private water wells aren’t regulated or regularly tested for contaminants like public water supplies are, so the responsibility rests on the homeowner to be sure that their water supply is safe to drink and not corrosive to their home’s plumbing system.
We collect samples and deliver them to a local accredited analytical lab, who provides a report directly to the client in 2-3 business days. Our water testing packages are listed below. All of the packages meet FHA/VA minimum requirements.
Please note: Results from water testing can take up to three business days to be delivered. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your inspection, to be sure that you schedule early enough in your due diligence period to allow for enough time to get your results before your inspection response is due. Stand-alone water testing services (without an inspection) are offered in the greater Nashua area only.
Note about PFOA/PFAS/PFCs: Although we understand the concern with possible contamination by these chemicals, we do not currently offer this very specialized testing. Please consult with a well water treatment professional. More information can also be obtained on the NH DES website.
